Contact Data Provenance Tracking captures attribute‑level lineage for every person in the Creso knowledge graph. For each field (e.g., email.primary, phone.work, title.current) Creso stores a provenance document that includes the source (CRM, vendor, web crawl, manual), timestamps (first_seen, observed_at, ingested_at, last_seen), verification method (SMTP ping, reply, multi‑source match, user confirmation), confidence and freshness scores.

Lineage is preserved through identity resolution and arbitration. We piece together fragments into a single golden record but alternate values and their provenance remain accessible. An attribute arbitration engine applies weighted rules (confidence, freshness, source trust tier, and customer precedence) so the active value is selected predictably and reversible — for example, preferring CRM values. If a primary attribute fails verification, alternate values can be auto‑promoted without losing traceability.

Governance and compliance are first‑class: prebuilt consent mechanisms allow consent options to be included in all outbound e-mails and texts. The strictest applicable consent wins (opt‑out overrides), jurisdictional rules are enforced automatically, and suppression propagates to connected tools within minutes.
